Special Educators who participate in Project ACRES receive individualized, virtual coaching from an experienced special educator and have access to a dynamic, virtual community of practice
You will have an individual virtual session approximately three times each month with your Project ACRES Coach. Your coach will offer resources to help you face your day-to-day challenges and help you understand your students’ most challenging behaviors. Together, you will work towards seeing more of the behaviors that will help your students to be successful.
Every other week, you will have the opportunity to meet with a group of other special educators who are also new to their jobs. Together with a highly skilled facilitator, you will share your challenges, questions, and successes with one another as you navigate your beginning years as a special educator.
Project ACRES is a research project funded by the Institute of Educational Sciences (IES) that is run by us (researchers) at UW-Madison’s School of Education. As a part of Project ACRES, you will also be a participant in this research study. There is no cost to you or to your school district. You will be compensated for your participation in the study.
